  • What will make us victorious in this life?

    Is it our power? Our money? Our beautiful faces and sexy bodies? Is it enough to conquer all the challenges that will go in our way? Let’s see..

    “It was not by their sword that they won the land,
       nor did their arm bring them victory;
    it was your right hand, your arm,
       and the light of your face, for you loved them.

     You are my King and my God,
       who decrees victories for Jacob.
     Through you we push back our enemies;
       through your name we trample our foes.
     I put no trust in my bow,
       my sword does not bring me victory;
     but you give us victory over our enemies,
       you put our adversaries to shame.
    In God we make our boast all day long,
       and we will praise your name forever.” -Psalm 44:3-8

    So there you have it! :) It’s God who will bring us victory in our lives. Let’s learn to rely on Him, instead of ourselves. We are weak in ourselves, but through God all things are possible. :)

  • If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”

       and you make the Most High your dwelling,

     no harm will overtake you,

       no disaster will come near your tent.

  • “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.”

  • Refuse to be depressed!

    Many people in the Bible understood what depression feels like. For example:

    I am worn out from my groaning.
    All night long I flood my bed with weeping

       and drench my couch with tears.
    My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
       they fail because of all my foes.

    Psalm 6:6-7

    Or this:

    Reproaches have broken my heart,
       so that I am in despair.
    I looked for pity, but there was none,
       and for comforters, but I found none.

    Psalm 69:20

    Does any of this sound familiar?

    The good news is that God doesn’t want us to live with these feelings! He wants us to have the joy of the Lord rise in us and chase away spirits of heaviness. As it is said in Psalm 6:8-9:

     Away from me, all you who do evil,
       for the LORD has heard my weeping.
     The LORD has heard my cry for mercy;
       the LORD accepts my prayer.

    God wants us to cry out to Him so He can lift us out of depression. Go on, talk to him. He is able to save you from whatever mess or situation you are in. He is able to save. :)
